Tricia Chung, SPHR
HR Consultant ยท Employment Law & Compliance for Trinidad and Tobago SMEs
Practical HR, built on both sides of the Gulf
Tricia Chung is a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) with more than fifteen years of HR experience in the United States and Trinidad and Tobago, including work in US federal government HR. She holds a BSc in Management.
In Trinidad, she was the HR link between a Houston head office and its local operation. That meant handling work permits and terminations, sitting on the safety committee, running the performance management programme, and writing the operation's first employee handbook. In Texas, she supported employees across several cities using PeopleSoft, ADP and Taleo. That mix of local compliance and international practice shapes everything in this Hub.
Why she built the Hub
Most small businesses in Trinidad and Tobago don't have an HR department, but they carry the same legal duties as large employers. A missed NIS payment, a dismissal without a proper hearing, or a severance figure worked out on the wrong pay can cost far more than getting it right the first time. Tricia wrote the TT HR Law & Compliance Hub to put clear, accurate answers within reach of every owner and manager.
